A warm and engaging environment where toddlers can build confidence, independence, language and friendships through meaningful play and exploration.
Our Pukeko and Moa programme supports children aged 2–5 years in a nurturing environment where curiosity, confidence and friendships can flourish. At our early learning centre in Mt Eden, Auckland, children experience a balance of structured learning and free play throughout the day.
7:30am – 6:00pm

Children have plenty of time to explore our spacious outdoor environment and learning areas while also taking part in meaningful centre rituals that bring our community together. These experiences encourage independence, creativity and social confidence while supporting each child’s unique interests.
A special part of our programme is Moa Time, a structured learning experience designed by our qualified teachers to extend children’s knowledge, skills and confidence. Each day also includes a baking or sensory experience after morning tea, followed by a relaxing story time in the afternoon where children come together to reflect on their day.
During free play, children explore the full centre environment while our teachers carefully observe and support their learning. With a high teacher-to-child ratio, our team is able to truly understand each child’s interests and extend their play using a wide range of high-quality resources.
Our environments are thoughtfully prepared to encourage creativity, friendship and discovery. Teachers regularly collaborate in planning meetings to reflect on children’s interests and design learning experiences that support their development.
Family partnerships are an important part of life at Stepping Stones. We love welcoming whānau into the centre and sharing updates through photos and our centre learning displays so families can stay connected to their child’s journey.
Meal times are another special moment in our day. Children sit together as a whānau, sharing food, conversation and connection with their teachers and friends.
Our goal is to provide a nurturing childcare environment in Mt Eden where children feel confident, inspired and ready for their transition to school.
